compactifications and function spaces on weighted semigruops

chapter one is devoted to a moderate discussion on preliminaries, according to our requirements. chapter two which is based on our work in (24) is devoted introducting weighted semigroups (s, w), and studying some famous function spaces on them, especially the relations between go (s, w) and other function speces are invesigated. in fact this chapter is a complement to (32). one of the main fea...

Differential subordination and superordination results associated with the Wright function

An operator associated with the Wright function is introduced in the open unit disk. Differential subordination and superordination results associated with this operator are obtained by investigating appropriate classes of admissible functions. In particular, some inequalities for modified Bessel functions are also obtained.

Inequalities and asymptotic expansions associated with the Wallis sequence

We present the asymptotic expansions of functions involving the ratio of gamma functions and provide formulas for determining the coefficients of the asymptotic expansions. As consequences, we obtain the asymptotic expansions of the Wallis sequence. Also, we establish inequalities for the Wallis sequence.

Transcendental values of the digamma function

Let ψ(x) denote the digamma function, that is, the logarithmic derivative of Euler’s -function. Let q be a positive integer greater than 1 and γ denote Euler’s constant. We show that all the numbers ψ(a/q)+ γ, (a, q)= 1, 1 a q, are transcendental. We also prove that at most one of the numbers γ, ψ(a/q), (a, q)= 1, 1 a q, is algebraic. © 2007 Elsevier Inc. Infinite family of approximations of the Digamma function

The aim of this work is to find “good” approximations to the Digamma function Ψ. We construct an infinite family of “basic” functions {Ia, a ∈ [0, 1]} covering the Digamma function. These functions are shown to approximate Ψ locally and asymptotically, and that for any x ∈ R, there exists a such that Ψ (x) = Ia (x). Local and global bounding error functions are found and, as a consequence, new ...
